The new official IATI Validator

While I was on holidays, my colleagues wrote a little announcement at the Data4Development site to accompany the update by the IATI Secretariat about our work:

The last few months, Data4Development, especially Rolf Kleef, has been working on IATI’s new official Data Validator. In the fall, the new validator will finally launch and help organisations check the quality of their IATI publications more easily!

The new IATI Validator will serve as an improvement of the current Public Validator on three key points:

  • It checks data against all the rules in the IATI Standard;
  • It offers API endpoints, making it possible to link to other IATI tools;
  • It is easier to maintain, thanks to a more robust technology inside the tool.

We are proud to be part of IATI’s journey towards better data quality. A new Data Validator will help countless organisations to reflect on their data, to make it better and to use it in order to increase its impact! Our main purpose is to help impact organisations increase its efficiency and impact by making data driven decisions and we believe that reflecting on the quality of your data is the first step in this process.
